Update

Klebsiella pneumoniae

Richard spent Monday through today in the hospital with sepsis, a systemic bacterial infection. His blood cultured positive for a bacteria called Klebsiella. Fortunately he responded to antibiotics and is now home.

The hospital has guest WiFi, but they block Facebook, Twitter, and editing Blogger. Very annoying!

Anyway, he's much better, although he still sleeps a lot.

He has decided to stop all treatment. We have an appointment with Hospice next week.

Hi Theresa;

I'm glad Richard is back home. Sepsis sucks.

I pray that Richard has a peaceful transition. Richard is blessed to have such a caring, loving caregiver. My prayers are with you both.

My thoughts are with you too from the other side of the world. My husband fought and fought, and left no stome unturned in his search for remission. However there came a time when he finally said "no more". I still miss him every day and think of him always but I am at peace knowing he is not in pain anymore. Make the most of the time you have left and treasure every moment. Take care and stay strong.

I am so sorry to hear that your husband is losing his battle with cancer. I hope that he has a chance to do some of the things he hadn't gotten around too before it's too late. It has to be tough being a wife and a provider who feels helpless at the same time. I found you through The Nurse Practitioner's Place.
