We had a really nice Christmas with all the grandkids and later at my sister's house. You can see photos on Facebook without joining at this link.
On the myeloma front, now Richard has a large lump above his right clavicle that appeared out of nowhere and is the size of an egg. It doesn't hurt.
He had a CT scan yesterday that was "inconclusive" whatever that means, so now next Tuesday he's having a biopsy. Possibly it's a soft tissue plasmacytoma that can be treated with radiation, but if that's what it is, it means the Beast is awake again in spite of the low M-spike and respectable CBC.
I'm having trouble finding info about the appearance of soft tissue plasmacytomas late in the course of mm. It seems to be common for them to appear as the first symptom. Often they don't progress.
The appearance of Richard's mass is odd as well. It looks like an egg under the skin. Descriptions of plasmacytomas describe pedunculated masses which are red or bluish in color.
Here are some links: here and here. If anyone has more info, please let me know.
